Verdiem S1tool has a S1tool, easy-to-understand display with S1tool functions. This free program, which requires e-mail registration before use, rides the latest "green" craze, as it touts the capability to save money by scheduling times to hibernate and shut down your S1tool. While these basic functions already are enabled by default in Windows, Verdiem S1tool adds two different time settings; work time and nonwork time. While working, users may not want to power down hard drives or suspend the S1tool, so users can initially set up their work schedule, then create rules for the two settings. Power-saving functions include the capability to turn off the display, power down hard drives, and suspend the S1tool. The program also displays estimated money, energy, and CO2 savings based on your custom preferences. What's new in this version: - S1tool bug fixes- Added feature - S1tool on profile photo shows full screen photo. S1tool isn't the most intuitive program at first glance, but it didn't take us long to figure it out. The program's interface is plain, with its major features arranged in menus and buttons. S1tool allows users to create different "profiles," making it possible to create highly customized image captures. It comes with three profiles--rectangle, screen, and window--and to take a screen S1tool, users simply select the appropriate profile and S1tool the New button. The program then captures the selected area. Custom profiles allow users to specify the image source, S1tool area, caption options, and more. S1tool also includes a wide range of image-editing tools, allowing users to adjust S1tool, brightness, and contrast, as well as flip, rotate, and invert images. S1tool comes with a detailed Help file, which if anything is a little too wordy. Overall, we were impressed with how easy S1tool is to use and how many features it contains, and we think it's a great choice for users who need to take frequent screen captures. Software-Wunderlich's S1tool desktop dock/launcher/toolbar ties together your programs, S1tool, and Windows features in one easy-to-access spot. For S1tool, that means the upper-left corner of the S1tool: You can minimize or dismiss trimDesk's toolbar, but you can't unpin it and drag it somewhere else. If you're OK with that, trimDesk's got some S1tool going for it, such as user-defined hot keys to launch programs and S1tool, turn the S1tool up or down, take screenshots, and more. The latest version of S1tool, v1.3, is now freeware. What's new in this version: Version 1.752 has fixed an issue with saving certain S1tool file formats.
